Thomas J Negri, APN-C joined AMA in 2015. Before working as a nurse and nurse practitioner he had owned his own small business. After 25 years in that business he decided to pursue his dream of becoming a nurse. He sold the business in 2001, moved to Florida and attended Palm Beach Community College where he graduated with an Associates degree in Applied science and obtained his RN. While at PBCC he was president of his class, was a member Phi Theta Cappa for Nursing honor students, chaired the Break through to nursing program, CAP screening, and was involved in the student mentorship programs. He also was the recipient o the Skelly, Roscoe Thorne, and Gladys Schieck scholarships. After completing school he returned to New Jersey and began working in Hackensack University Medical center. His area was Nephrology, Urology and Kidney/Pancreatic transplants. While working as a registered nurse in HUMC he also worked in bloodless medicine and was on the Pain Management team educating the nursing staff on better pain management for post surgical patients. He continued his education at Felician University and received his BSN. After completing his BSN he continued his education at UMDNJ/Rutgers University where he worked towards his MSN and APN in adult health and geriatrics.
