Welcome to Allied Medical Associates

Originally founded as North Haledon Medical in 2001, Allied Medical Associates (AMA) strives to combine the advancements in medicine and technology with the traditional family doctor approach of days gone by. The basis of such a union came about when Dr. Frank G. Saya, who had been practicing traditional family medicine in North Haledon since 1967, met up with Dr. Anthony J. Barravecchio, who is a big advocate of applying cutting edge advancements in the medical profession to primary care.

It was this meeting of generations that formed the model under which AMA practices. Today, AMA utilizes all the most modern advancements available in medicine, while firmly remaining grounded in its roots as a traditional family practice.

Some of the attributes that we take pride in:

•  All office visits, by request, are scheduled with a Board Certified Physician

•  Expanded office hours including 4 weeknights

•  Minimal wait times

•  Same day appointments available

•  Most insurances accepted

•  Emphasize long-standing relationships between our doctors and patients

•  Blood drawing station conveniently located within the same building.

•  Electronic Medical Record System that allows for Optimal Management, Organization, and Security

Get to Know the Doctor

At Allied Medical Associates, we believe that we offer a unique approach to healthcare that makes us different from many other medical practices in the area. At our core is the focus of bringing the traditional family practice experience that many of us came to expect from years gone by to modern-day practice. We achieve this by scheduling all our appointments, by request, with board-certified physicians and emphasizing building one-on-one relationships with our patients. We do our best to run a highly efficient office where the patient's time is seen as a valuable commodity, all while giving our patients many of the conveniences seen by larger practices that may seem to be more sterile and bland. For instance, we fit patients in for same-day appointments but always give them a scheduled appointment time to avoid office bottlenecking.

We offer extended evening hours most every weeknight and offer the convenience of having the most common procedures and studies done on-site, including bloodwork. We also have strong affiliations at neighboring imaging centers for procedures not offered at our location where our patients are typically given priority treatment and can be treated expeditiously.

We also maintain affiliations with the best institutions in the region so our patients have a choice where to pursue their healthcare. We understand that one size does not fit all, so we adapt to the needs of our patients. Most importantly we put an emphasis on the continuum of care throughout all aspects of a patient's life. When possible, we follow our patients in the office, hospital, nursing home, assisted living, rehabilitation center, or hospice setting.

We are there for our patients every step of the way. We strive to be your ally in healthcare and take care of your family as if it was our own.
