Dr. Paul D. DeFranco
Dr. Paul DeFranco joined Allied Medical Associates (AMA) in January 2007. He completed his undergraduate degree in Neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh and graduated from The University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City in 2000. After medical school, Dr. DeFranco completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn. Upon completing his residency, Dr. DeFranco performed immunology research at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, and has presented his work at the 12th International Congress of Immunology in Montreal in 2004. He was the recipient of the First Place Prize for research by the New York Chapter of the American College of Physicians in 2005. Dr. DeFranco is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. His other medical interest lies in the realm of wound care medicine, and he is also certified by the National Alliance of Wound Care. Dr. DeFranco has been active in wound care medicine since 2007, both in the office and at various nursing homes in the Passaic/Bergen County regions. Dr. DeFranco is the Director of Wound Care Services at JDT Skilled Nursing Facilities and also is affiliated with Kessler’s outpatient Wound Care Center in Ramsey, NJ.
Dr. DeFranco grew up in the Allentown/Bethlehem region of Pennsylvania. In his spare time he enjoys skiing, travelling, and playing jazz guitar. Prior to joining AMA, Dr. DeFranco worked in a private practice in Staten Island, NY. He currently resides in Bergen County.
